Time to Hit the Books

My kids were supposed to start school this week but since there's a growing apprehension regarding the spread of the A-H1N1 flu, I have another week to enjoy their company. Oh so NOT!!!! lol! I want them back in school so that I'd finally have peace and quiet in the house! Arrrggghhhh!!!!

My youngest DS was the only one who got disappointed in hearing that classes were moved back another week. He's really excited to find out who his classmates in PREP will be. Aside from that, he's excited to use his new roller bag in school. Here is my youngest in a layout I made a while back. He's trying out his hand at reading and writing. Oh, I can't wait for school to start. Might have more time to scrap!!!

Summer's Here....

So I better post my Valentine (or sweety-sweety) layouts right away. If you've noticed, I don't really use pink in my layouts. Much as I would really like to I just don't do pink. Too sacharine-sweet-that-gives-a-toothache kinda feeling for me. So what do I do when I get an all pink Making Memories Love Notes Collection kit from Lasting Impression? Well of course dig deep (really deep! like 5 years ago...lol!) and look for baby pictures! Good thing I found this...

It's so pink and sweet all overI think I got a sugar rush while doing this!

And this weekend is kinda special because DH and I will be celebrating our 17th wedding anniversary! Happy Anniversary, W! Thank you for all these wonderful years we've shared together! I really, really feel lucky and blessed to be in such a caring and supportive relationship with you. Here's to more years ahead of us! Making Memories

I took this picture of my DS about a year ago. If you want to freeze a moment like this, make sure to set your camera at a high shutter speed. My shutter speed was set at 1/200 per sec! So love the mood of this set. Enjoy!

Another layout with my Mother using 29th Street Market paper. I so enjoyed dabbing the edges with Making Memories acrylic paint, I had to stop myself from overdoing it!

Summer Fun Layouts

Last March, my kids' schools went on fast break to be able to finish everything before the curiously early Lenten Season so right now they're enjoying the longest summer break (in my memory) of close to 3 months. For 2 months now, my kids have been ruling the roost, so to speak. Boy!!! Two months down, ONE more month to go!!!

Sometimes it DOES get to me! ha-ha... Just being honest... but on bad days, I'd sometimes wish that school would start soon. Oh,now don't get me wrong. I'm crazy about my kids and I love having them around. Must be the heat.....

As soon as the kids went on summer break last March, we hied to the beach for what else.... fun, fun, fun!!! Here are some layouts I made using the new Paper Trunk line by Lasting Impression. Check it out. Their papers are gorgeous!

Making Memories and Easter Layouts

My DS attended his first "public" Easter Egg Hunt in our village. For the past years, I've always arranged an Easter Egg Hunt in the comfort of our home away from over-zealous parents/yayas/grandparents who most of the time do the hunting themselves. I felt that this year, DS was ready for the real world.

I'd have to hand it to this year's organizers, the village SK. Everything was so organized. And guess what.... NO ADULTS were allowed in the hunting area. It was all up to the kids to find their own loot. It was so heartwarming to see all the grown-ups cheering the kids on. Good, clean fun!

DS made me really proud that day. Being below 5 years old, DS was one of the first in the hunting area. He happily hunted for about 5 minutes then came to us to show off his loot. He wanted to go back and hunt for more eggs but we explained to him that we had to give the other kids a chance too. Upon hearing our explanation, DS quickly agreed and proudly announced with a big smile: "Mama!! I got three!!"

Simply Life Journaling: Gabriel, today you learned an important lesson that I hope you'll remember all your LIFE. Today, you learned to share with other children. You shared willingly & wholeheartedly, with a beautiful smile and a pure heart.

An Easter Story Journaling: You wanted to go back to get some more eggs but when Mama said that some of the other kids didn't get any yet, your face broke into a huge smile and you proudly said, "Mama, I got THREE!!!!"
