Cousins and A Graduation

So what have I been busy with?

My sister, BIL and niece had to come home last February to pay their last respects to my BIL's mother who passed away. Despite the sad circumstances of their homecoming, we were still able to enjoy our brief moment together. Expectedly, it left me and my household in a flurry of activities. Combine this with my kids'school activities, I'm quite amazed I survived it all! Something's got to give though and thís included my yoga and (sniff!!) scrapping.

It would have been great for the 2 older boys to have come home too but only my niece was able to tag along. Jennifer is 12 years old, loves shopping, girly stuff and whoa!!! Marian Rivera!!! She couldn't get her fill of seeing MR's face in most of the billboards around the Metro. She was dying to watch her live. Sadly, there was no opportunity for that so we just gave her a magazine with Dingdong Avanzado to bring home. he-he... Was she so kilig!!!

Here's a page I did to document my DD's graduation last March. She's done with grade school and is about to enter the exciting life of high school. We're really proud of her. I used Websters Pages' Nature's Storybook line here.

Websters' Pages

Do check out the latest Webster's Pages papers available at Lasting Impression. Aside from "Hello Beautiful" (pictured here), the other lines "A Sweet Life" and "Magical Wishes" are also available. I'm really, really so happy it finally came. Please swoon with me....

It's just fitting that I make a layout of my mom using Websters' Pages. I chose an undated black & white picture of her which is prominently displayed in her room. I just scanned a copy for my layout. My mom estimates that this was taken during her pre-teen years so this is circa 1940's.

To match the vintage-y feel, I sprayed Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on the base paper as well as the flowers. Here's a closer look....

Hello Beautiful!

I hope my favorite LSS, Lasting Impression , brings in this new collection from Webster's Pages soon! Love the colors! Never thought that orange, teal and maroon would go gorgeously together. Isn't it really beautiful???!!

Webster's Pages Challenge

Please come & join the Webster's Pages Challenge sponsored by Lasting Impression. Last day of submission is on February 28, 2008 so you still have a lot of time to make your entries. The entries will be judged by Webster's owner, Ms. Brandin O'Neill.

Here's a couple of Webster's pages layout that I made. "Gifts under the Tree" was really an easy LO. I really wanted to capture my son's expressions as he opened his gifts last Christmas so I cropped the pics to 2x2 sizes to fit in as many pictures as possible. I then cropped another one a little bigger to make it as the focal point. If only capture the squeals and giggles of DS...Btw, he really did dive under the tree...

For "Enjoy", I experimented on embroidering swirls on my LO. I was inspired by a layout which I saw and thought of giving it a try. It was really hard at first, but I eventually got the hang of it. Tip: Poke holes along the edges of the design to make it easier.

Christmas Layouts

Talk about delinquent! I still have a few of Christmas 2006 pictures that I need to scrap. So before I get buried under Xmas 2007's new set of pictures, I decided to scrap my backlog pictures using new papers!

For this layout, I used Lasting Impression's new line of Websters Pages papers. The company is a relatively new one which offers beautiful papers. For those into cardmaking, this paper is THE choice for it's thick cardstock quality and double-sided design.

And now maybe I can start scrapping our Christmas 2007 pictures. As an experiment, I tried to veer away from the traditional red & green Xmas colors. Quite happy that I experimented with non-Christmas colors! Love the teals and oranges of 7gypsies' Pretoria line!!
